I  -  VITA

Students on this case study:

Vita is 17 and she is studying in vocational school – where together with general education she learns profession – retail commercial employee. Vita dreams about successful career and in future she aims to find job with good salary. Currently it is a dream as she does not have education degree and work experience yet. In her free time Vita is engaged in charity. She share information with her friends and with other students, she share information in social networks and invites people to make donations - dress, accessories and various household objects. Once per week she goes to charity shop and by several hours support people here. This activity she can do together with her studies as in shop she can arrive and support by choosing time which suits best for her. By working in store Vita gains experience regarding general principles of retail stores, she get new connections with people and she spend her free time helpful.
How do you think regarding Vitas future - did this experience by joining charity is helpful? How and why do you think so? What does others (school, store, family and society) obtain from Vitas acting?



II  -  VALDIS

Group apartment is location where several young people with special needs live together in one residence and together obtain necessary skills. In apartment resides also social workers who shares experience and support them.

Success story of Valdis
Valdis is person with special needs. In group apartment Valdis arrived directly from boarding school where he get initial education however he miss everyday skills. Bigest problem for young male were personal hygiene and cooking. Step by step young male learned how to cook different dishes, plan his budget and how to take care about himself. After certain period of time Valdis has been recruited and he get job in one of biggest Latvian companies. After three years which were spend in group apartment he starts to live independently. Currently Valdis is working and improving his professional qualification, he plans to make his own family and he is very satisfied with his life.
How does time spend in group apartment affected Valdis life? What consequences will be if Valdis will not get to group apartment?



III  -   LINDA


Students on this case study:

Linda is young female - very friendly and active in communication. She lives active virtual life in social networks. She is studying in Riga in college Humanities sciences and is paying for her studies. She is coming from the countryside where her family (parents, grand parents and two sisters) still lives. In Riga Linda together with her fellow students rents flat. Young lady is very empathetic and she would like to support everyone and she would like to protect everyone who needs protection - therefore she is confused as she did not know exactly how to act and what to do. Linda can't support people with money as she is not yet working and her family resources were limited as they already cover Lindas study and other expenses.
How do you suggest Linda to act - so she can support and help people?
