Identify yourself in society!

This is a project blog in which the participants identify their roles in society as contributors and decision makers and tell about it within the framework of a Nordplus Junior project called “The Role of Youth in Society”.

Purpose of the project
The project is focusing on developing good social skills and a strong self-image of young people who have a responsible attitude to society stressing on the following issues:
1.      to increase involvement of youth in society through the campaigns:
·        Media's effects on young people minds (ICELAND)
·        Both society and business benefit from multicultural teamwork skills (FINLAND)
·        Volunteering and intergenerational solidarity (LITHUANIA)
·        Charity for our feelings of well-being (LATVIA)
·        Throwing away prejudices and racism (ESTONIA)

2. to present opportunities for personal self-growth, skill enhancement and leadership development
3. to enable youth to work with adults in active collaboration toward local community needs
4. to allow youth to identify their own interest
5. to work in collaborative multi-cultural teams towards a common objective that benefits society

Project content
·      3 students and 1 teacher from each country in every mobility are taking part.
·  Within every mobility, 5 multicultural groups are created with 3 students in each.
·     Every mobility has a different campaign topic.
·      Each partner school before the mobility has to do preparations in advance.

Before every mobility will be posted on the blog:
·      presentations of mobility team members, facts about the participating school and country,
·      opinions, comments, interviews and discussions about the youth role in society and its contribution
·       topic related task for each team to attach a fact based essay-max.400 words and a
·      3-5 minute video clip

In every mobility:
·      team presentations and evaluation of home work
·      5 multicultural groups of students made
·      case study situation presented for the multicultural teamwork workshops
·      allocation of tasks of campaign planning and implementation
·      campaign preparations
·      campaign held
·      evaluation of the campaign
The host school:
·       is responsible for the planning, arrangements and implementation of a campaign
·      will provide its experience in learning and teaching methods about campaign planning and
implementation to the project group
·      will organize a visit to a local youth organization about the importance of youth strength in this particular society

The result of every mobility:
·       the best essay and video selected
·      the most creative case study situation discussed
·      the campaign implemented and evaluated
