Media's effect on young people minds.
Youth are the rising and future generation of society. The
youth grows and is molded within a specific social environment. The stage of
youth is one of assimilating knowledge of all kinds.
In understanding the surrounding world, youth display
curiosity, rebelliousness, impassioned and uncontrolled enthusiasms. That
quickly form judgments. Youth’s stage is crucial in the molding or forming of a
stable social being. They can change the future of society with their well being
and courageous behavior. Youth hope for a world free of poverty, inequity,
unemployment and exploitation. Youth participation is important, because youth
are the country’s power. They are a strong force in political and social movement.
They are aspiring entrepreneurs rather than mere workers.
Media is all around us, especially in young people’s lives. We need technology in
our school project and also in the future, in our working life. We are using
computers every day, and we need to develop our knowledge about technology, so
we can succeed in our jobs.
Fitness and healthy lifestyles are very big topics right
now, which is a good thing as long as it doesn’t get too healthy. By too
healthy, I mean too strict a diet, or using too much bad active substance to
gain more muscle. In bad situations, especially guys use steroids.
Today we have lots of bad effects, coming from media. Like
BeyoncĂ© sings, “pretty hurts”, but it shouldn’t...
But let’s not talk only about bad media effects. Media also
has lots of positive things.
I asked a few people about it, and I had a lots of comments
about how much more social they are after getting into social media.
Media good effects:
·
Easy ways for any news and information from all
over the world.
·
Network for political and social awareness
·
Help to operate with the mission of providing
one with more information.
Media bad effects:
·
Dependency only on media, so social
participation decreasing.
·
Some media risks are like cyber bullying,
increase in violence.
·
Youth become too open and public with personal
information.
·
Influence for spending more money.
