Case study, Kaunas group

Student Ann study social sciencies at college, she wants to work as a social worker. Shy girl came from small village, she is first year student doesn’t have much friends so far, only few girls from her hometown study at the same college. Ann spends big part of her  free time in children garden, she is volunteer.  Her friends invite her to spend time in bars, disco’s. Ann doesn’t have much free time after volunteering or she is too tired to go out with her friends.  Ann’s friends always reminds her that she works for free, looses opportunities to meet new friends and try to convice her that young, beautifull girl and volunteering doesn’t match . Ann wants to keep her friendship, but doesn’t want to give up with volunteering practise. How Ann can protect her values and believes, what could be argumentation for youth voulteering ?

Case study, Aukstadvaris group

Jim( 20) study at day time and plays music at club and parties after his studies. Jim has only one member of family that is alive-his grandfather. Grandfather after stroke was partly paralysed.  Jim couldn’t take care of him because of work and studies and his grandfather was sent to rest house. Jim visited his grandpa and was blaming himself that he can’t take care of him at home. After death of beloved grandpa, Jim started to work at rest home as a volunteer. He was taking care of old people and it was like a therapy for him. Jim found out that rest home needs medical equipment that will help to solve many problems.  How youth could attract society attention to such a problem and how to build a campaign in order to get medical equipment to rest home?

Case study, Palanga group

Tom studies ecology at university. Student has a task to write an essay about ,,How disabled people develop their skills to compensate their disability“. Tom became volunteer in disabled care house for scientific purpose. He noticed that blind people have developed intuition and extraordinary ability to feel  surroundings without seeing it. Tom came to conclusion that disabled people are very special. He wants to attract more young people to volunteering. What arguments could Tom stress to young people motivating them to help disabled people?
